Let your imagination take flight at the Butterfly Pavilion in Denver, Colorado. This museum is unique in that it showcases lots of small critters. Invertebrates, animals without backbones, make up 97% of all animal species in the world, but they play a huge role in ensuring the health of the environment. The Butterfly Pavilion Zoo has over 5,000 species (butterflies, insects, spiders, marine invertebrates and much more, for you to wonder over, including more than 1,600 butterflies in the tropical rainforest.

With 11,000 acres to explore, it’s a wonderful getaway spot for people of all ages. Explore the Wings of the Tropics, the Crawl Em See Em exhibit, the Water’s Edge, the Outdoor Garden and much more. The Butterfly Pavilion is terrific place to let children explore. Student groups, special organizations, families groups and more are welcome to explore or book the Pavilion for special events like birthday parties, field trips, summer camp outings and more.

Throughout the year, the Pavilion hosts all kinds of great classes and special events. During the summer months, kids will love the great nature camps and classes. For adults, the Rainforest Yoga class is hugely popular. Or enjoy classes like Macro Photography, Butterfly Pavilion Basics, or Butterflies of the Rainforest. Enjoy private sunset strolls and the calm and tranquil beauty of one of the few insect museums in the country.

The Butterfly Pavilion is open daily from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. except Thanksgiving and Christmas. It is located just 15 minutes from downtown Denver off Highway 36.
