Tucked in the red rock bluffs and wind-shaped monuments of Utah is a place called Frontier Movie Town, also known as Little Hollywood. Located in the town of Kanab, Utah, Movie Town has been the film location for The Outlaw Josie Wales, The Apple Dumpling Gang, and The Search for Noah’s Ark. Television shows like Lassie, The Lone Ranger and Gunsmoke were also filmed here. It was once the favorite hangout for Hollywood stars like John Wayne, Charleton Heston and Clint Eastwood.

Today, visitors can explore the movie set at no charge from March through December. The set has fake store fronts and all the accessories of a Wild West town. A few fun aspects of the town are the Chuck Wagon cookouts and Dutch-oven dinners, as well as the western entertainment events. Visitors must make a reservation for these events. Or visit the gift shop that includes Native American arts and jewelry, Stetson hats, and Abilene boots. In addition, the Little Hollywood Movie Museum exhibits a collection of actual movie sets from many of the western movies throughout the years. For more information you can visit the Little Hollywood website at www.littlehollywoodmuseum.org.
