Out of Africa Wildlife Park allows you to experience the wilds of Africa in the heart of Arizona. See lions, tigers, giraffes, elephants, rhinos and more on 100 acres of wilderness at the base of the Mingus Mountain range in Camp Verde, Arizona. The park is owned and operated by a husband and wife team, Dean and Prayeri Harrison. Their goal is to provide a natural habitat for the animals, while allowing you the sheer fun of watching these magnificent creatures at play.

Out of Africa Wildlife Park has a unique approach to its animals. The Harrison’s have hand raised many of the cats and other creature from babies, even having the critters live at home with them as they grow up. As a result, they bond deeply with these creatures. They believe in attending to the animal’s daily food and husbandry requirements with a holistic approach to their health, medical and development needs. This deep care is rewarded with gratitude and friendship from the creatures they care for, which means you are privileged to witness the intelligence, beauty and playful nature of the animals.
General admission to the Out of Africa Wild Life Park covers the Serengeti Safari Tour, Wildlife Preserve Tram Tour, Giant Snake Show, Tiger Splash Show, Predator Feed and Wonders of the Wildlife Show. There’s an extra charge to feed a tiger. Out of African has a great gift shop as well as two places to grab a bit to eat. The food is the standard — salads, wraps, burgers, hot dogs and ice cream — but fun and filling.
Located two hours north of Phoenix, Arizona, and at a higher altitude, the weather can still be very hot during the summer months, into the 100s on some days. During Monsoon season, huge thunderstorms are not uncommon. In the winter months, temperatures are mild with highs in the 40s and 50s and it can snow along the Mingus Range during winter storms. No matter what time of year you visit, check the weather reports and dress accordingly.
