Looking for fun things to do with your kids on New Year’s Eve? The Denver Colorado Zoo has the answer with its Zoo Year’s Eve celebration. Children can experience the fun of New Year’s Eve without stretching bedtime — the celebration begins at 5 p.m. and winds up with an early countdown at 9 p.m. There are plenty of activities and great entertainment leading up to the countdown, not to mention dozens of exhibits to explore, as well as acres and acres of the Holiday Light Safari and the Wild Ice garden with dozens of ice sculptures to see.
Throughout the year, the Denver Zoo offers many fun programs for kids:
Bunk with the Beasts: Great sleepovers at the zoo!
Zoo Camps: Weekday and weekend camps when school is out of session.
Tot-Trekkers: Play-based activities, animal visits, age-appropriate crafts and fun stories for toddlers and their parents (age 2-3).
Kinderquest: Children ages 4 and 5 can delve into the amazing animal world through animal encounters and observations, zoo tours, interactive activities and sensory experiences.
Junior Explorers: Children ages 6 to 8 dig a little deeper into animal and environmental topics through hands-on investigations, animal observations and encounters, zoo tours and more.
DZ Naturalists: Kids ages 9 to 11 interested in animals and science are challenged to delve into environmental topics that will make a difference to future generations.
Teen Programs: If your kids wonder what it would be like to work with animals, there are many programs open to them through the year.
Denver Zoo Keeper Experience: Children will spend a morning with Denver Zoo Education animal keepers and learn about what is involved in being a zookeeper. They will even have the opportunity to get some hands on experience working around live animals.
