Rock the Block at the Fiesta Bowl Block Party!

Kick off the New Year with a rocking celebration in Tempe, Arizona — the Fiesta Bowl Block Party! Named one of the top ten places in the nation to ring in the New Year by USA Today, the Fiesta Bowl Block Party will welcome more than 150,000 people to enjoy New Year’s Eve entertainment, pep rallies, fireworks, carnival rides, interactive games and more. The Fiesta Bowl Block Party has been a tradition in Arizona for almost 35 years and it just keeps getting better every year! It’s a fantastic, fun way to kick in the New Year if you are visiting Arizona during the holidays.

Here’s are just some of the highlights from the 2009 celebration:

Each year, nationally known entertainers rock the block with great music and performances. This year, the headliner will be the Doobie Brothers, as well as 35 bands and entertainers on 10 different stages.

Many people say that the Dueling Piano Bar is the best place to hang out at the event. Pianists from The Big Bang will have you singing your favorite song and dancing to the beat.

Craig Davis is one of the best Magicians in Arizona. The Craig Davis Magic Show, like no other, combines original and unbelievable grand magic illusions, side-splitting comedy, audience participation, amazing juggling and breath-taking belly dancing.

For kids, the Kid’s Cove is located in City Hall Park and offers all kinds of activities for children age 2 – 12, including a terrific game zone. Kids can get involved in activities like mask, hat and tiara decorating, bowling, horseshoes, bean bags and ring toss and more.

The Festival of College Football is a great party that brings together fans from the Insight Bowl and the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl to celebrate their love of the game and cheer on their team.

Fireworks at 10 p.m. and again at midnight will light up the sky.

Tickets are available online or by calling . General admission tickets are $20, or you can get discount tickets for $15 at all participating Fry’s Food Stores in the area. The entrance gates are located at the following locations: Mill Ave. & University Dr.; 5th St. east of Mill Ave.; 5th St. west of Mill Ave. (by Ash Ave.); 3rd St. & Mill Ave. You can get to the event by METRO light rail. Use the 3rd Street & Mill station, since there’s an entrance gate to the event right there.
